The i5K initiative sets out to sequence the genes of 5,000 insects essential to our survival. This initiative brings various scientists from around the globe, together, to form a larger more effective collaborative effort intent on solving this fascinating genomics puzzle.

Polar Signal provided the initial branding and identity development, with the challenge of integrating one of the sequenced insects, specific molecular shapes, and references to the double helix. This project was unique in regard to branding and identity development, in that, after the original foundational logo was developed, each group of scientist were provided the foundational graphics. They would then alter the vector graphic to add their corresponding insect of focus to the i5k base. Scientist across the globe continue to pull from this initial logo while adding the subject of their focus. An exciting project to embark on visually, but also for the future of the planet!
